  • The Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship will process only a few short term visas without a thorough assessment of your suitability to visit, work, study or live permanently in Australia.

We recommend you seek the professional assistance of a Migration Agent registered with the Migration Agents Registration Authority before lodging an application with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

    Visas

Eligibility for a visa to enter or remain in Australia will depend on various circumstances such as:

    • family connections in Australia
    • Australia’s need for your skills
    • potential employment opportunity
    • potential business opportunities
    • potential investment opportunities
    • plans for a working holiday
    • plans for a relaxing holiday
    • plans to study
    • plans to marry
    • plans to retire
    • a need for medical treatment in Australia
    • a distinguished talent to offer Australia
    • refugee status
    • child adoption (If you are planning to adopt a child from overseas to live in Australia it is essential you contact the Department of Community Services before making any adoption arrangements – even if you are a citizen in the proposed country for adoption. We recommend you also contact us for a consultation to ensure you have received comprehensive and pertinent advice from DoCS.)

We will advise you about your most appropriate visa application and the requirements of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

We will prepare your application and lodge it with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

We will liaise with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship on your behalf until your visa application is finalised.

You may have already lodged a visa application without representation and now find yourself needing professional help to complete the process successfully. We can assist you at any stage in the visa application process.

    Employer Sponsorship

We can assist Australian corporations or small businesses in applying to sponsor suitable overseas employees to work in any approved occupation.

We provide a personalised service based on your industry needs.

We can advise on the likely prospects of a potential candidate being granted a short term, longer term or permanent visa even before an employment offer is made.

We will then arrange for both the sponsorship and visa applications, clearly and accurately translating the specific role proposed for the overseas employee in terms of the requirements of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

If required we will liaise directly with the proposed overseas employee to organise all visa requirements.

    Letters from Immigration

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship is obliged to communicate with you if it intends to make an unfavourable decision about your immigration status.

Generally such communication is in the form of a letter to the most recent mailing address recorded with the Department and requires a response from you within a certain time period.

The content of that response can be crucial to your immigration future. You should always seek the advice of a Registered Migration Agent before making a response to a letter you receive from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

We can advise you about the implications of the letter and about the options available to you in making a suitable response.

We will prepare your response to the letter within the prescribed time limit and liaise with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship on your behalf.

    Tribunal review

If you have had a visa refused or cancelled we can advise you about your rights to a Tribunal review and the likely prospects of your success.

We will arrange for an application to be made within the required time limit and assist you throughout the preparation of your case.

We will liaise on your behalf with the Tribunal and go with you to the Tribunal hearing.

    Unlawful status

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship is aware of a perpetual number of unlawful non-citizens living and working in the Australian community. Where possible the Department prefers that unlawful status be resolved through the appropriate avenues to residency status.

In some cases it may not be necessary for an unlawful person to go offshore to obtain residency. We can advise you about your onshore and offshore options for resolving your unlawful status.

We will prepare appropriate documentation and will attend with you at any interview arranged by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.

    Court appeals

It is only in limited circumstances that an immigration case can be appealed in court. We can advise you about whether your case can be appealed and, if so, the likely prospects of success.
